It’s Fashion Friday and what better way to wind down in the afternoon over a delightful afternoon tea with my girls at Bake-a-Boo, a gem of a find in West Hampstead.
Bake-a-Boo is the creative ingenious of Zoe Berkeley. Bake-a-Boo as per the name is oh so cute, a pastel parlour of delights, from the cakes to the décor, it’s absolutely gorgeous! This gem of a tea house exudes warmth and comfort through the silky warm lattes to the beautiful and tempting raspberry cupcakes that I simply could not resist!
However, it wasn’t just the coffee, the cake or the friendly staff that made our trip such a delightful experience, it was the little attention to detail that I loved, from the romance of the rose chandeliers and the Valentines wish tree to the simplicity and understated beauty of paper doilies bunting and a plaque in memory of Annie Hasan. It was lovely speaking to our hostess Clementine, from whom I learned that Zoe herself creates all the beautiful craft work in the tea room, a true labour of love. Every now and then, I’d lift my eyes away from my tea cup and my luscious cup cake and notice something else of intrigue, something quaint and so here are some of the “little things” that caught my attention.
If I closed my eyes, I could imagine my friends and I sitting there with my granny, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot, exchanging style tips over beautiful cakes and coffee, perfect! I love discovering new tea rooms but for now cocktails in Soho House beckon, I need to get ready for the occasion. Happy Friday everyone!
Lots of love

Thank god for digital bringing me to the f-row at the recent TopShop Unique AW13 show at London Fashion Week! TopShop partnered up with Google to continue their quest to deliver creativity and innovation to delight us their customers. You too may have watched the live streaming of the TopShop Unique AW13 show with numerous innovations like a “Model Cam” to a “Be the buyer app” fashion hang out app (create your own mood boards based on catwalk looks) to “Google Hang Outs” speaking to the design team at TopShop headquarters.
This digital experience fused beautifully with some very sexy looks on the catwalk, with exposed midriffs, contrasting fabrics, sparking sequins and oversized coats with shades of ash, blue and pink. Sparkling sequins will be lighting up the high street this Autumn Winter 2013, as supported by WGSN’s trend forecast at the recent Pure London Show at Olympia. I absolutely loved the below jumpsuit from the TopShop Unique AW13 show – gorgeous “Dairy Milk” hue, shiny sequins and a sexy low back. Sexy luxe!
This got me thinking about what sequins I have ever dared to own. Like myself, many of you may come out in an immediate rash at the thought of sequins gracing your skin. I believe I once owned a light pink boob tube which on me was more of a top, but I got a lot of wear out of that on the dance floor! Sadly, it is no more but having had a look on the Oxfam Online Shop, you can get sequin ready for Autumn Winter 2013 now with some of these great buys! Check these out now, they are one off pieces so once they are gone, they are gone! Or if too many sequins blind you, why not open for sequin detailing on your accessories like your scarf and handbag? Happy Shopping!
